I volunteer to tutor second graders who have trouble reading and the school throws a breakfast at the end of the year to thank us. The sign out front, two years ago, said, "Welcome Mentor's!" It was a white board, so I used my finger to take the poor little apostrophe out. I didn't have a dry erase pen to insert a comma, though. Sigh.

Perhaps they were encouraging you to welcome mentors, Kaye! (I know; it drives me crazy, too.)
