I agree with you on everything! And I love Lisa's Spellman stories. Let's start a campaign for her.

Hey, Lisa's doing okay for herself. Let's start a campaign for ME!!!

I love books that make me laugh out loud, keep up the good work.

You're absolutely right, almost any serial killer book gets more attention than a humorous mystery. I don't think the powers that be in book publishing have a model for a successful humorous mystery. Carl Hiaasen doesn't seem to count as a mystery for them, and the dear departed Donald Westlake -correct me if I'm wrong - got a tremendous amount of respect in mystery circles - but perhaps not as much outside of that community. If Lisa wins, editors might start looking for the next Lisa Lutz and that wouldn't be a bad thing. I think at least part of her success has to do with the brilliant way that her publisher positioned her in the marketplace.

But enough of this serious chat...."let me whip this out"

I'm so with you, Jeff! Writing something light and frothy is like writing in high heels, backwards, or something. Maybe we should start kicking 'em in the shins?

Nah, probably not. Thanks for airing though!!

Well I've never tried it that way, Clea, but I'll take your word for it.
