Why is it so much easier to fritter away my time doing stuff that isn't writing?
Today's frittering entails the new newsletter sign-up form on the bottom left. Go ahead, scroll down and take a look...I'll wait.
Why have I added this? Because, like climbing the mountain--because it's there...or rather, because it's available from Vertical Response, the company I've signed up with to do my e-mail newsletters.
My chum Sheila recently commented that the text-only newsletters I was sending out via my yahoogroup were rather visually...boring. So, after looking at a couple of companies and hearing several testimonials, I decided to bite the bullet and go for something a little more pleasing to the eye. I'm a bit disappointed you can't play with the text--that is, colors, fonts, size, etc.--but I'm hoping that'll change in the near future. (I suppose if enough people complain, it'll happen quicker.)
I've got the first newsletter all set up to be mailed, and have manually (since I couldn't get it to work otherwise) transferred my entire mailing list over to VR, and now I'm trolling for new members. And, as mentioned above, they give you a widget to put your form here on Typepad so I figured--what the heck!
If you haven't already sighed up for my masterpiece newsletters--feel free to do it now.
It's okay. I'll wait.
Hi Lorraine
Thanks for becoming a customer! Your blog looks great. BTW, you can play with fonts and text in our "Email Canvas" feature. When you create an email simply select that option instead of "Email Wizard" and you'll be able to select a pre-designed layout. Then, just like Word, you'll be able to insert images where you like and play around with text.
Cheers,
