In the ´70s when my kids were at school I complained that their spelling wasn´t corrected and was told that to do so would "interupt the artistic flow". Things are now worse they aren´t taught any kind of grammar or spelling. Keep the populous ignorant and you can control them.

I want to know when "me" became a forbidden word? Even supposedly educated people are saying things like "Tom brought cake to share with Molly and I." It's rampant not only in everyday conversation, but on TV and radio as well.
And don't get me started on "nucular".
Or plurals spelled with an apostrophe before the s.
I say we all follow Lynn Truss's example and carry around a big, black marker so we can fix these things!

I've had a many LOLs in stores when I see signs. KJ & I compare misspelled signs a lot.
1. At a Lowes: "Afican Voilets"
2. Uncle Al's Sports Bar "Soild color tees for sale.

Heeheeheee! Keep on writing ladies.

You can't say this blog isn't educational. I had never run across the term chyron, so had to chase it down on Google (since it wasn't in my dictionary). Found it's named for the company that sells the buggers.

But getting back to spelling, what I hate with a passion is companies and people who use "4" for "for." As far as I'm concerned, it's 4 the birds.

I guess you can tell I work in TV, Chester! I used the term without thinking of defining it...

Thanks to everyone for commenting--I've been "off the grid" at the Virginia Festival of the Book for several days. But I'm glad to hear I'm not alone!
