You might try a couple of things to repel the bunnies. Sprinkle a mixture of cayenne and fine ground black pepper around the area. Of course you would need to repeat this periodically. Also, if you know someone who cuts hair get some clippings and sprinkle this around the garden. This can give the area a human scent. I know the hair one works with deer and it may work with rabbits.

Last year we had wonderful luck with the beans by spreading some frightfully expensive blood product on the ground. That didn't deter Mr. Groundhog from eating 90% of my Brussels Sprouts, though. I'm going to try again--and this year I have a Havahart trap in my arsenal. I'll put the blood stuff around the peas, too. Thanks for reminding me!
