I still boil my water, wait for about 30 seconds, and then pour it in the pre-heated pot. I really enjoy the ritual that goes along with the tea.

Kettle, definitely. It has never even occurred to me to use the microwave.

Still boil the water.

I currently use the microwave to heat the water. I have great memories of growing up and waiting for the tea to steep. My father's parents were from Scotland and my family has always been big tea drinkers. Nothing like a cup of English Breakfast tea in the morning.

I always boiled the water in a tea kettle, but the whistle broke and I burned it up!! Yikes. Can't find one I like. So I've been having to microwave. Not quite the same, but better than no tea. ;)

I boil the water. Doesn't seem the right temp. from the microwave.

I boil the water in a kettle on the stove. But I miss my electric kettle, which, it seems, all Canadians (and, I assume, Brits) have. What a simple, logical appliance. Yet they are still rare here. Like tea drinkers, I guess...

I have a lovely, efficient electric kettle for heating my water (which I then-usually-pour over loose leaf tea).

Lynn Hirshman-depending on where you are, you should be able to find an electric kettle

Great idea, Libby. I looked on Amazon and they have a number of electric kettles. Go look here, Lynn: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dappliances&field-keywords=electric%20kettle&sprefix=electric+ket%2Cappliances&rh=i%3Aappliances%2Ck%3Aelectric%20kettle

Boil the water, every morning, in the Pyrex kettle we were given as a wedding present 35 1/2 years ago.

Boil the water. It gives it a more "hearty" flavor. Sometimes the old way is best. :) <3

I have never thought of water actually coming to a boil in the microwave, I've never considered using anything other than the kettle.

I do wish they made cute ones like teapots, as a teapot is rather useless and you def need a kettle.

I like to boil the water in a kettle on the stove. I find for some things old ways are best. I think it adds to the ceremony. I enjoy using loose tea and a ceramic teapot. I have found having a beautiful cup and saucer makes me feel special, sitting down and taking time for myself.
